floor exercises

I do floor exercises, aerobics classes, swimming and I do weight training.

When you do 'floor exercises' it means that you do not use any equipment, just your own body weight.

Notice the following:

  1. I always do some floor exercises when I go to the gym.
  2. I have learned some new floor exercises and they seem really good.

joints

You're not putting pressure on your joints when you're jumping up and down.

'Joints' are the areas in the body that allow your limbs to bend and move. Elbows, knees and ankles are examples of joints.

Notice the following:

  1. If you take cod liver oil it will help your joints.
  2. Swimming is kinder on your joints than running.

rich

I do cakes, like really rich cakes like red velvet cakes.

When food is 'rich' it means that it is very tasty and high in fat it is usually so sweet or heavy that you can't eat very much of it.

Notice the following:

  1. I can't eat too much rich food or I will feel sick.
  2. I have eaten a lot of rich food this year.

traditional

This year's cookies are going to be the traditional Christmas sugar cookie.

'Traditional' means that something has been done year after year and has a history and an important significance for you.

Notice the following:

  1. Every family has their own traditions.
  2. I think traditions are great as the give a structure to Christmas.

yummy

A big cookie in a kind of a Christmas shape, like a Christmas tree or Santa Claus with icing or some colored sugar, very yummy.

When a food is 'yummy' it means that it tastes good.

Notice the following:

  1. The cake that you baked me was yummy.
  2. The shop has all sorts of yummy cakes and sweets.
