Every Mother's Fear
Christine / Kenya
I live in a country where generally medical services are expensive. Now, imagine you have a terminal illness or you have a family who has a terminal illness. Or you have a child like mine who was recently diagnosed with autism and needs various therapies to aid in his growth and neurological development.
This is something that you cannot put away. You'll have to do it so that you assist this child in growing. That has been the most challenging moment as a parent, because here I am with a child who needs my care, medical services. In this instance, occupational therapy, speech therapy, hydrotherapy among others. And now you wonder, "Could it have been a different time where you are able to manage this particular expense than it is right now?"
