What is A1 English?

A1 listening lessons feature easy vocabulary, basic grammar, and slow speech with short pauses.

The vocabulary features basic nouns, verbs, and adjectives with some adverbs. Pronoun use is basic.

The grammar is very basic. Most sentences are short and simple, with only one verb.

The speech is slow and clear. The speaker adds short pauses. All words are clearly spoken.

The topics are common topics like food, family, and everyday life.

What is A2 English?

A2 listening lessons feature basic vocabulary, simple grammar with some connections, slightly slower speech and everyday topics.

The vocabulary features mostly basic nouns, verbs, and adjectives with some adverbs. Pronoun use is basic.

The grammar features basic sentences, with some clauses linked by basic connectors (and, but, so, because, when). The verb tenses will vary some (future, continuous, past), and there will be some infinitives and gerunds.

The speech is natural, but also fairly slow, clear, and easy to understand. The is mild blending and linking of words.

The topics are common topics like food, family, and everyday life.

What is B1 English?

B1 listening lessons feature intermediate vocabulary, some complex grammar, natural speech, and conversational topics.

The vocabulary features a variety of fairly common concrete and abstract nouns. The speaker uses some common figurative language and phrasal verbs.

The grammar features more complex sentences. Most sentences or utterances feature multiple clauses connected by basic connectors. More advance grammar tenses (present perfect, passive voice) are common.

The speech is natural, but also fairly slow, clear, and easy to understand. The is mild blending and linking of words.

The topics are a mix of common and abstract topics such as money, education, fashion, media, etc.

B2 Intermediate English

B2 listening lessons feature more high-level vocabulary, complex grammar, natural speech, some idiomatic phrases, and abstract thoughts.
