The question that I'm answering is have you had a job that required bilingualism?
Now, my answer is yes.
I trained as a physiotherapist and one of my friends recently gave me a call and said, "Can you help out at my practice? Because I'm short of staff." And I said, "Sure. I'll help you out for six months." And that practice had a lot of patients that came in that spoke Chinese. Now, luckily I have a bit of a Chinese background so I was able to communicate in Mandarin Chinese with these patients. Now, if I didn't have that language, I wouldn't be able to treat these patients because they only spoke Chinese and their English is extremely poor. So in a healthcare setting where communication is so important, having that English and Chinese, that bilingualism, was absolutely essential for this job.
