Hello, my name is Bianca and I'm from North Carolina in the United States. My question is, is diabetes a problem in your country? And unfortunately, yes, diabetes is a problem in the United States and it has become even more of a problem in recent years.
Now unfortunately, because of what's been termed the standard American diet, which has included loads of processed food and complex carbohydrates such as breads and pastas and cakes and pastries and cookies.
So that coupled with, refined sugars and oils, lots of meat, few fresh vegetables and fruits, and then a sedentary lifestyle, because so many of us work a desk job and drive everywhere.
That has contributed or these have contributed to a rise in diabetes as Americans have gotten heavier. And unfortunately this trend has not affected only adults. We see a rise in diabetes in teens and children as well. So thank you so much for watching this video. And what about you? Is diabetes a problem in your country?
