My name is Miles Pennington and I'm from the United States and my question is do teachers praise students too much these days?
And my thoughts on that are that praise is a good thing in the classroom. It does not take away from what you are trying to accomplish as long as you don't take too long doing it. Always telling the students at the end of an exercise "very well done" is a good thing because it's motivating to them on a subliminal level and it's better than the alternative, which is saying nothing or saying something bad. If you need to give them feedback that is not positive you should follow it up with some kind praise, whether it be something that is advice on how to improve or something that is just encouragement.
