Definitely yes! When I first came to Japan, I came here alone so I have a few friends in Tokyo but where I'm at now it's quite far away from Tokyo so I used to get really bored at night and I'd call out my friends and what started out as a few minutes became like an hour a day and so finally when the bill came it was about 80,000 yen and that's almost close to 800 US dollars so you can imagine my surprise and what came next was a whole series of part-time jobs just to pay off the phone bill so I learned my lesson so remember don't use your phone in Japan because it costs a lot.
