depends on

Meaning: Is affected or decided by something else.

Examples:

  1. It depends on the weather if we go out.
  2. The cost depends on the size of the house.

in my case

Meaning: For me; in my situation.

Examples:

  1. In my case, I prefer working from home.
  2. It was easy for others, but in my case it was hard.

for some time

Meaning: For a short or limited period.

Examples:

  1. I stayed in Paris for some time.
  2. She has been learning English for some time.

certain

Meaning: Specific; particular.

Examples:

  1. Certain books are very hard to find.
  2. Only certain people know the password.

random

Meaning: Chosen or happening without a plan or order.

Examples:

  1. We picked a random number.
  2. She met a random stranger on the bus.

doesn't sound bad

Meaning: Seems like a good or acceptable idea.

Examples:

  1. A free trip to the beach doesn’t sound bad.
  2. That plan doesn’t sound bad to me.

broken English

Meaning: English that is spoken or written with many mistakes.

Examples:

  1. He spoke in broken English to the tourists.
  2. Her broken English made it hard to understand her.

didn't make much sense

Meaning: Was hard to understand; was not logical.

Examples:

  1. The story didn’t make much sense to me.
  2. That sentence didn’t make much sense in English.

pretty odd

Meaning: Very strange or unusual.

Examples:

  1. The movie had a pretty odd ending.
  2. It’s pretty odd to see snow here in summer.
