Have you ever been someone's superior at work?

Lesson Activities

Hello, my name is Chanel and I'm from the United States. And my question is, have you ever been someone's superior at work?

And the answer to that for me is yes. So when I was younger, I worked in a retail store. I was actually in my early twenties, so a lot of the individuals who worked under me were actually a lot older than me, and so this made for a very interesting experience for me being a superior at work.

Because of my age, sometimes I would have problems with some of the employees, so I had to be very stern, which is out of my character generally. Sometimes I had to do things I didn't want to do, be a little bit mean, but it was very important for me to stay on my ground a lot of times because I was someone superior at work.

So that was something that was a little bit uncomfortable for me, but it actually paid off in the long run. And it taught me a lot about managing and being fair but stern and getting the job done. So that was my experience of being someone superior at work. What about you? Have you ever been someone superior at work? Okay, until next time. Bye bye.
