Like for a signature or something.

A person's 'signature' is the unique way that he signs his name.

Notice the following:

  1. I asked the famous actor for his signature in my autograph book.
  2. You need to give them your signature to prove that you have received the item.

look up

You get the address, and I look it up in my map.

When you 'look something up' it means that you find out more information.

Notice the following:

  1. I don't know what that word means, I will look it up in the dictionary.
  2. I will look his name up in the directory.

safe driver

Even if you are a safe driver, someone's going to hit you.

When you are 'safe driver' it means that you are careful and drive in a safe way.

Notice the following:

  1. Even though you have passed your driving test it does not mean that you are necessarily a safe driver.
  2. My mum does not let me borrow her car as she does not think that I am a safe driver.

draft

Oh, like the new issue, the first draft, or whatever.

A 'draft' is the imperfect or first version of something that will be reviewed and modified.

Notice the following:

  1. I will take a look at the draft for you and give you my opinion.
  2. I have sent out the draft paperwork for you to approve and return back to me.

I was tempted

I was really tempted but I couldn't do that.

When you are 'tempted' to do something it means that even though you know you probably should not do it you still feel that you want to.

Notice the following:

  1. I was tempted to just not turn up when I found out that he had lied to me.
  2. If you tell him that you are making cakes he might be tempted to come.
