Hi, my name is Nadia and I'm going to be talking about what I believe to be the main cause of crime.

I think that one of the main causes of crime is desperation. I think that many people commit crimes because they're unable to meet their basic needs. Maybe they've lost their job or maybe there aren't jobs where they live. I think that people commit crimes because they feel that they don't have any other options.

I also believe that in more developed countries, television violence contributes. I know that's a huge controversy but I think that children at a young age when they're allowed to see violent programs over and over again, become desensitized to what they see, therefore later in life committing violent acts or crimes. It not only seems like it's not a big deal but it also seems like sometimes a good option.
