Olivia / USA flaf

Do you have a timeframe for your goals?

Lesson Activities

Hi, I am Olivia. I'm from Washington, DC and right now I live in London. And my question is, do I have a timeframe for my future goals?

And the answer is yes. Part of the reason is because I live in London. My visa depends on me making certain career goals by a certain time. Otherwise, I'm unable to stay in this country. So I'm an actor, and what that means is I have to perform in a certain amount of professional productions, whether that be through theater or film and TV in a certain amount of countries in order to get my next visa. And that for me expires in about a year and a half.

So I have a year and a half to do maybe one professional production here in the UK, maybe one professional production somewhere else. Hopefully somewhere that pays well, maybe someplace like Germany. And all of those productions have to have a certain number of credentials and reviews. So yes, I have a year and a half to start supporting myself as an actor so that I can stay living and working in London, which is what I would really like to do.
