Hi, my name is Chris. I'm from the United States and my question is what is something that will reduce crime?

I'm convinced that one of the biggest contributors to crime is inequality. Big gaps between the wealthiest and the poorest in a country, particularly so in America. I think that if one group of people have a lot of things and another group of people don't have a lot of things, they're going to be upset about that and that could result in higher amounts of crime, higher rates of crime. And also any time you have a lot of poverty, I think that there can be a correlation between poverty and crime. So one thing you can do to equalize things is provide a good education. So by providing education you help level the playing field so that different people from different walks of life and different backgrounds can have a better chance to compete on equal footing and to take control of their life and earn a decent living so that they don't have to be tempted by crime.
