Do you think AI or robots will be more harmful or helpful in the future?

Lesson Activities | Free PDF Worksheet

Hello, my name is Preah. My question was, do you think AI or robots will be more harmful or helpful in the future?

I am honestly not sure where I stand with this, so maybe you can help me out. I'm going to use a scenario to best explain how I feel about it. Let's talk about mobility and in the home. Let's say I'm a physically fit person and I have a robot that is able to cook, clean, wash, tidy up, do everything for me. All I need to do is just sit down, press a button or just say what I want it to do. I feel like if that will make people more lazier, less inclined to be physically active. And I think we will just be very dependent on robots to do everything for us. So I would say that is where the harm would come in in that aspect.

But let's think about the good or helpful. Let's talk about a person who isn't physically capable of doing things on their own or a person that is disabled. That would save them from having to hire a real life person to do these things for them if they had a robot to do it for them. But when you also think about the percentage of people who are physically incapable to the percentage of people that aren't physically incapable and can do things on their own, it would mean that it would be more harmful, wouldn't it?
