Mentimeter lets you build a slide-based quiz or poll that students join and respond to live, using their own devices. It's a strong fit for reviewing grammar, vocabulary, or any content point where you want the whole class responding at once, with results appearing on screen in real time.

Why use this tool?

Because students join with a simple numeric code — typed into menti.com on their phone or laptop — there's no complicated setup on the student side. Once everyone's in, questions appear one at a time, students submit answers within a countdown window, and the correct answer and class results display immediately afterward.

This immediate feedback loop is what makes Mentimeter useful for review: both the teacher and the students see right away who got it right and who didn't, without waiting to grade anything separately. The free plan includes a limited number of monthly participants, which is enough to get started even if it's not unlimited.

How to use it

1. Build your quiz. Use one of Mentimeter's quiz templates and add your questions — you can set a fixed set of answer options or allow students to type in their own answer to be checked against a correct response you've set.
2. Start presenting. Click Present to bring up the join code and begin the live session.
3. Have students join. Direct students to menti.com, where they'll enter the join code shown on screen (and optionally their name) to enter the session.
4. Advance through each question. Present each question one at a time; students answer within the countdown, and the screen updates to show the correct answer and how the group did once time is up.
5. Review results together. After each question, briefly go over the results as a class before moving to the next slide.

Because responses submit in real time and students can see whether they were right immediately, Mentimeter works well as a quick, low-prep review activity — especially with content students have already been practicing elsewhere, like grammar points or vocabulary sets built in other tools.
