I have a couple of old ELLLO accounts, but I haven't used them for a long time. However, I do see teachers and organizations using X to share English-learning content, so it is worth looking at.
One example I like is VOA Learning English. They share different types of content, including visuals, short text, links to articles, and videos. You can actually upload video directly to X, so it can be another place to distribute short video lessons. Videos with captions are especially useful because students can still follow the lesson when they are somewhere they cannot listen to the audio, such as on a train.
There are several ways teachers could use X:
- Share short teaching tips. Post a quick grammar point, vocabulary item, question, or learning tip.
- Post images. Share a visual, infographic, worksheet preview, or other teaching material.
- Share videos. Upload short video lessons that students can watch directly on X.

- Look for ideas. Search for things like English lessons or learning English and see what other teachers and organizations are doing.

YouTube is mainly about video, and Pinterest is heavily focused on visuals, but X lets you work with text, images, links, and video. You can also follow teachers and educational organizations around the world and see how they are sharing their material.
I'm actually thinking about using X again for ELLLO. Even if you don't plan to use it regularly, it can be useful to look around and see what other teachers are doing. And for this course, I needed a free tool for the letter X, so this one was easy. X marks the spot!
